ABOUT THIS PAINTING
Title: The Prayer
Spiritually inspired. This kaleidoscope of color is bursting with vivid history and moving clarity. Place this in your home when you need to be inspired by Truth. The most beautiful soul, Sojourner Truth, in 1852, responded: “And Ain’t I woman?” at the famous Seneca Falls women’s rights convention. When men were heckling the women presenters, Sojourner rose to tell her story and ask the men this question. I was so moved by her courage to do this (particularly her courage to face all the white, powerful women who were running the show) and her brilliance in that moment that I had to paint the essence of her bravery and spiritual connection.
